How to play a video on an older TV
Older TVs and DVD players can be picky. Here is how to get a family video to show up on one.
Check the ports
Look at the back or side of the TV or player for a USB port. If it has one, you can often play files from a USB stick.
Use an older file type
Many older players read AVI files but not the newer files phones make. Make an AVI copy of your video and it often plays. That is what the "old TV" option does.
Copy it to a USB stick
- Put the finished file on a USB stick. Use FAT32 if the stick asks how to format.
- Plug it into the TV or player.
- Choose the USB input and pick the file.
If it still does not play
Check the manual for the file types it supports, keep the video shorter, or try a smaller size. Very large files can be too much for older players.
